The turning point
“I did my first pediatric rotation on the unit I now lead.” A professor’s office hours, a co-op and a group of friends from the first-year seminar made the difference, Elena says.
Advice for new students
- Go to office hours in the first month
- Say yes to the co-op or placement, even if it scares you
- Find one club outside your major
